Playing without an account
Your results, streak and theme choice stay in your own browser (local storage). They never reach our server. Clearing your browser data removes them.
Like every website, our server sees your IP address when your browser asks it for something. We use it only to stop abuse, such as too many guesses or messages in a short time, and do not store it.
With an account
An account is optional. It keeps your progress across devices and unlocks duels.
Email address
To log you in and send verification and password-reset emails.
Until you delete your account
Display name
Shown to friends you play duels with.
Until you delete your account
Password
Stored only as a salted hash. Nobody can read it, not even us.
Until you delete your account
Game progress
Your results and streaks, so they follow you between devices.
Until you delete your account
Duels
The scores you play in a duel, visible to the people in that duel.
30 days
Feedback
Messages and requests you send, with your account or the reply email you add.
Until we delete them, or with your account
Email links
One-time codes in verification, reset and email-change emails.
1 to 24 hours
Encrypted backups of the database exist so nothing is lost if a server fails. Deleted data disappears from them within 3 days.
Cookies
There is one cookie, sid, and only once you log in. It keeps you logged in and is needed for that to work, so there is no cookie banner. There are no advertising, analytics or tracking cookies.
Who else is involved
Deezer
Artist photos and album covers load straight from Deezer's image servers, which see your IP address like any website you visit. Song clips come from Deezer through our server.
Email delivery
Verification and password emails are sent through an email delivery service.
Ko-fi
Only if you click "Buy me a coffee" to donate: you leave Moshle for Ko-fi's own site, which has its own privacy policy. Nothing is sent to Ko-fi before that.
Hosting and backups
The server and the encrypted backups are run by cloud providers on our behalf.
Fonts and everything else on the page come from our own server. Nothing is sold, and nothing is shared for advertising.
Your rights
See and download your data. Account, then "Download my data".
Correct it. Change your name, email or password in Account.
Delete it. Account, then "Delete account". Your email, progress, duels and feedback are removed at once.
Ask or object. Write to us about anything on this page. You can also complain to a data protection authority: in Austria that is the Datenschutzbehörde (dsb.gv.at), or the authority where you live.
